2012 Crossfit European Regionals are done! It was a fantastic competition, and a great return to the competitive scene for me after such a long period of knee problems. Finished 13th overall, finding all the necessary motivation to train for next year. As usual, the mighty Icelandic ladies were very impressive, with Annie always leading the way. Big shout out to Mikko for qualifying again, and to Númi for a mindblowing wod 6. See you all next year!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you… the earth harp. Now fly with me :)

Haven’t been as active as usual in the past month, as I have just been focused on working and training for the Crossfit European Regionals which are now exactly 10 days away! After a long process of recovering from a neverending patellar tendon injury, I healed significantly about a month and a half ago. It feels amazing to be able to train with a real purpose again! Until now I was training “to not hurt myself more” as my knee was always giving me problems. Now that it’s better, I can shift to a much more challenging and motivating purpose: have a blast at Regionals! Can’t describe how much I miss being in a competitive environment, and I can’t wait to feel what it’s going to trigger in me. Also looking forward to meeting all the new- as well as old fellow competitors.
So I have 2 main messages right now:
1) Prevent injuries. Make mobility work and the pursuit of excellent movement mechanics a natural habit. If you do, you will learn something and improve every day, I guarantee. And if you feel like something is really wrong somewhere, don’t wait for it to be too late, treat it immediately. This also means that you’re body is calling for some REST, accept and enjoy it.
2) Make goals. No matter what they are, you need a purpose. Whether it is making it to the Crossfit Games, getting fitter for your specific sport, getting back to your pre-pregnancy body, or squatting 180kg by the end of the year.

And in times where you are struggling, where your lungs are burning like hell and the voice in your head is telling you to “give up”, just keep pushing! Because… (see above)

Amazing testimonial of perseverance and courage. There are no boundaries when you’re determined. If you are willing to get outside of your comfort zone and stick to it, despite the falls and the initial hard times, you will never get disappointed in the end.

If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven’t done anything today.
